SPH Mission and Goals

SPH Mission

The National University of Rwanda/ School of Public Health’s mission is to train professionals, conduct research and develop programs for the prevention and mitigation of public health problems.
Our aim is to improve the health status of the population of Rwanda and the sub-region, through providing graduate education, in-service training, and doing research and community service.

SPH Goals

Our strategic goals are:

1. To provide education and training to national and regional health professionals in support of national and regional health plans.

2. To conduct applied research to facilitate the efficiency and impact of health sector interventions.

3. To improve the quality of public health programs in Rwanda through service activities.

4. To contribute to the knowledge base of public health issues related to complex emergencies and disasters.

5. To develop an autonomous and sustainable School of Public Health.
