Masters in Public Health (MPH)

Our MPH program aims at equipping health professionals and other providers with the necessary skills that will enable them to plan, manage and evaluate health services in order to improve the health of the people of Rwanda. At the end of the program, the graduate must be able to promote health, prevent diseases, supervise clinical and health services provision, and be a ‘leader’ in public health matters throughout the country.
The MPH program is taught by a highly experienced faculty both in teaching and in field experience whilst implementing public health programs. The MPH is offered as an evening program as a majority of our students are professionals coming from diverse backgrounds such as policy makers, doctors, nurses and educators among others.
This graduate program lasts for two (2) years and students need to complete a minimum of 8 Modules and write a dissertation. Some of the taught Modules include Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Management of quality and Health systems, and Applied Research Methods and Health Policy and Planning

Admission Criteria
• Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized institution of higher learning.
• The program is aimed at professionals in the socio-sanitary domain working at the district, project and program levels, as well as in the private sector with at least two years of experience. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in General Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Public Health, Biology, Social Sciences, Economics, Journalism and other related fields.
• Proficiency in English
• Computer literate
• Candidates must successfully pass an entrance exam and interview by a selection committee.
